Semolina Pudding
Semolina pudding is a traditional Dutch dessert, which happens to be easy to make and fairly cheap. Plus, it's incredibly versatile; if you can make this basic recipe, you can create dozens of variations.
Ingredients
- 200 ml plant milk (divided into ½ cup and ⅓ cup)
- 5 ts semolina (ca. 25 gr)
- 4 ts sugar (ca. 20 gr)
- ¼ ts vanilla aroma
Instructions
- Wet the inside of the bowl that you want to serve the desert in
- Pour the plant milk into a pan and turn up the heat
- Once it reaches boiling point, turn the heat down and stir in the other ingredients
- Keep stirring until the mixture becomes thick
- Pour the mixture into the desert bowl and put it in the fridge
- Wait (impatiently) for 30 minutes for it to settle
Notes
Variation tips:
- Stir in a handful of raisins or dates
- For chocolate flavour: add a tablespoon of cacao and an extra teaspoon of sugar
- Replace the vanilla aroma with a teaspoon of a different aroma… or a teaspoon of your favorite liquor
- Serve with fresh berries
