VSA Joins a Save Square
On Saturday 8 April, VSA Nijmegen is joining a Save Square again π! A Save Square is a form of vegan street activism.
The Save Square consist of two groups. One group stands around blindfolded (you can see through the blindfold) holding a screen, facing different directions. The screens show footage from the animal exploitation industry. The other half of the group are outreachers who talk with passers-by to make them think about their food choices. The participants regularly change roles, but if you donβt feel comfortable doing outreach, you can also just remain in the square.
The footage shown at the event is graphic, but you don’t need to watch it if you don’t want to. Especially if you only stand in the formation, you see next to nothing of it. For more info you can also check out the event description from Animal Save: https://www.facebook.com/events/599877761774878
More detailed instructions are given at the event and the organisers will be there to help you if it is your first activist experience. A VSA board member will also be present if you need any support. Lastly, this Save Square is also Easter themed and there will be some vegan alternatives for people to try π. Hope to see you there!
