Nature Walk & Pancake Restaurant

Do you want to go on a super relaxing nature activity with the VSA 🌱? Then join us on Thursday, February 6th for a walk through the beautiful Ooijpolder and/or a delicious dinner at a pancake restaurant! ✨
The Ooijpolder is a special nature reserve along the Waal River, offering scenic landscapes, diverse wildlife, and a peaceful atmosphere 🌾. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing outdoor experience before indulging in tasty pancakes! 🥞

We’ll leave together by bike🚲 from the Huygens building at 15:30 (so try to be present a bit earlier!) and start the walk around 15:45, exploring the area for about an hour. Afterward, we’ll head to Pannenkoekenrestaurant ‘t Hoogstraatje for a cozy dinner around 17:00 (or a bit later).

Can’t join for the entire event? No problem! You’re welcome to join either just the walk or just the dinner at the restaurant. We can’t wait to see you there! 😊

🕠 WHEN: Thursday, 6th of February
15:30: Leave the Huygens building (main entrance) to cycle to the Ooijpolder
17:00 (or later): Dinner at Pannenkoekenrestaurant ‘t Hoogstraatje

👥 WHO: Open to everyone!

♿ ACCESSIBILITY: Walking: the walk will be around 4.5 km and the route will partly be on paved and unpaved roads. Cycling: of course you can choose to join us at the starting point of the walk instead of by bike at uni. If you want to take the bus, bus stop Terwindtstraat is closest.

💰 COSTS: Joining the walk is free, but you will have to pay for your own dinner at the restaurant. Pancakes are in the range of €8-€15. You can look up the menu and prices on hoogstraatje.nl (note that they unfortunately charge €1 extra for making the pancake dough vegan).
