Introduction to Activism Workshop
Standing up for what you believe in is very important, maybe now more than ever. Some of you might already be familiar to the world of activism, but if you’re just starting out it might seem very daunting.
This is why the Educational Committee is organizing a workshop introducing you to the different forms of vegan activism.🌱
We have invited several people all involved in vegan advocacy, whether individual or as part of an organization, subtle or drawing great attention, online or in person. This way you’ll learn about the distinctions and similarities in the ways that you can make a difference!
Afterwards there will be a borrel where you can discuss the things mentioned and build your network.
A little sneak peek at some of our guest speakers:
▪️Sanne, the chair of LabCom last year, which organised the VSA’s protest on World Day for Laboratory Animals. Sanne will explain some of the ways in which she helped set up this protest, and what it was like to join!
▪️Michelle, who organises Save Squares in Nijmegen and Arnhem on behalf of the Animal Save Movement. At Save Squares people stand in a formation and show footage of the animal exploitation industry. Others are outreachers who talk to passers-by about their food choices. Michelle has done a lot of Save Squares and will tell you about her experience with this type of street outreach!
▪️Varsha, a vegan consultant and dietician, is the face behind the instagram account “@fluently_vegan”. She shows how tasty and colorful vegan food can be! She shares dishes, restaurant tips and experiences in different cities and countries. She has a lot of knowledge about veganism, and will be explaining something about online activism!
We hope to see you there! 💚💚💚
