With falling leaves 🍂, deadlines and exams, and shorter days in sight, at least we have one thing to look forward to: a traditional Dutch secret santa exchange, known as Pakjesavond! 🎁 Come join us on 11 December for an evening of laughs, snacks, and crafts (exchanges)!🍫

This fun Dutch tradition involves three parts: getting a (second-hand) gift for your recipient 🤫; making a ‘surprise’, an arts and crafts object to package it🪅; and writing a poem for the recipient 📜. Quite a bit of work, but super fun and rewarding! Here are the steps:

Once everyone has signed up, you’ll be added to a new group chat where a link to our drawnames.com (lootjestrekken.nl) page will be linked. Here you can enter fun facts about yourself and create a wishlist to inspire other people.
You’ll then get randomly assigned someone to prepare the gift/surprise/poem for.
On 11 December, we’ll come together to read our poems and open our surprises! Yes, there will be snacks.
