the current Board
2025-2026

Joy
(she/they)
Chair
Hi, I’m Joy! When I started my bachelors in the US 10 years ago, I barely knew this country existed. 6 boards, a cat eaten by coyotes, a pandemic, a year in France, and a ton of Dutch language courses later, here I am as your 7th chair.
I’m in my second year of a pre-masters to become an art history teacher and Dutch citizen. Eventually I’d like to own my own art school/studio/gallery in Delft or Leiden, but we’ll see where else life takes me.
Whatever happens, may the 7th year of VSA Nijmegen be full of growth and new veg*ns!

Arie
(He/Any)
Secretary and treasurer
Hello everyone, I am Arie. Apart from my board duties i spend my time reading philosophy, playing guitar alone and in my band AvondUur, check us out, studying mathematics and physics and doing an internship as a high school teacher.
I am looking forward to learning a lot about organizing around veganism in my year on the board, and i hope to see us succeed in making the world suck just a little less.

Thomas
(he/him)
Head of Internal Affairs
Hey everyone, I am Thomas and I am doing a PhD in computer science. Besides doing research, I like reading, mostly fantasy (send me recommendations!) and doing sports like powerlifting and recreational MMA. Though not a hobby, I spend a lot of time advocating against animal exploitation on the weekends.
My role on the 7th board is Head of Internal Affairs. I am also responsible for the animal ethics & activism, social media, and event promotion portfolios. I am looking forward to working with the board, committees, and all members towards making the VSA an active and fun association!

Aaron
(he/him)
Green + coördinator
Hi, my name is Aaron, and I am the Green+ Coordinator for the academic year 2025/26. I am from the south of Germany where did my degree in civil engineering before switching study programmes and starting my study in PPS (Philosophy, Politics, and Society).
In the upcoming academic year, I will try to make Green+ more independent from the VSA so it can exist as its own thing and is not fully dependent on the VSA. Still, I will obviously keep close contact with the VSA and its board and give them a voice -especially with topics that are big concerns to the VSA. Furthermore, the goal for the second half of the year is organizing an effective campaign for the USC-elections, so we can at least keep our number of seats – or increase it in the best case.
